Siemens will participate in the fourth China International Import Expo (CIIE) with the theme “Technology to Transform the Everyday”. In this year’s Expo, the company will showcase successful applications of its innovative digital technologies in intelligent manufacturing, smart infrastructure, smart mobility, and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and the vast potential of digital technologies via demonstrative cases co-created with Chinese enterprises. In addition, Siemens will establish a zero-carbon exhibition area at the CIIE for the first time, presenting its recently launched Siemens China Zero-Carbon Pioneer Initiative. This area will demonstrate how Siemens actively practices green and low-carbon development and works with partners to create a green ecosystem in order to build end-to-end zero-carbon industrial chains. Siemens is also launching the Siemens China White Paper on Carbon Neutrality during CIIE. This white paper will share insights into high-level planning, roadmap making, and industry-leading technologies and practices to help key Chinese industries achieve the “dual carbon” goal. Siemens has also announced plans to deepen cooperation with Chinese enterprises in a wide range of industries.

“The CIIE is a grand event that promotes international exchange, opening-up and cooperation. Siemens is honored to be part of it for four consecutive years, and to demonstrate our leading digital innovations in the China market,” said Dr. Xiao Song, Chairman, President and CEO of Siemens China, “Siemens has been developing in China for nearly 150 years. By participating in the CIIE, we will continue to deeply integrate into China’s new development pattern, co-create an innovative ecosystem that drives win-win cooperation with the Chinese government, customers, and partners, contributing to the high-quality and sustainable development of the Chinese economy and the global economic recovery.”

Connecting partners to create green and low-carbon development
The Siemens China White Paper on Carbon Neutrality to be released will introduce a clear roadmap for industrial carbon reduction under the context of global and local development on decarbonization, detailing key steps including baseline and vision setting, top-level planning mechanisms, implementation scheme, and the roadmap iteration. The white paper also analyzes challenges and opportunities posed by carbon reduction for energy, industry, transportation, and buildings. It shares successful case studies in these fields drawn from Siemens’ consulting services, solutions, and innovative technologies, which have helped guide the green development of industries.

In the Zero-carbon exhibition area, Siemens will for the first time demonstrate Siemens GREEN, the company’s carbon footprint calculation and tracking solution based on blockchain technology. Using advanced technologies in energy management, industrial edge computing, cybersecurity, and blockchain, Siemens helps enterprises accurately calculate and track carbon emission of products during the manufacturing process. This solution builds a reliable, encrypted network using blockchain technology to transparently integrate and share relevant data from all levels of suppliers without the risk of data tampering. This solution provides a basis for enterprises to accurately record and calculate carbon footprint for individual product, significantly improving the transparency of industrial carbon footprint assessment. In turn, this contributes to a collaborative carbon footprint platform that provides accurate and trustworthy data for all participants, realizing the potential for carbon reduction together. Siemens GREEN has been successfully implemented at the Siemens’ digital factory in Chengdu.

Siemens blue GIS, another innovation developed by Siemens China, will also be exhibited in the zero-carbon area. Siemens blue GIS is an environment-friendly gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), which features the fluorine-free design and vacuum interrupter technology to avoid producing environmentally harmful gases or chemicals during operation. The switchgear is already operating in the market, such as in the Zhangjiakou infrastructure upgrade project.

All exhibitions at the Zero-carbon exhibition area are part of Siemens China’s Zero-Carbon Pioneer Initiative. Under the initiative, Siemens co-creates a green ecosystem with all partners in China with its digital innovations and cross-industry expertise, to help build end-to-end zero-carbon industrial chains. Siemens will continue to accelerate decarbonization process in its own operation, supply chain management, and customer empowerment. By 2025, the company aims to assist more than 500 key suppliers in China to accelerate their carbon reduction journeys and help tens of thousands of customers in dozens of industries improve energy efficiency.

Integrating digital and real worlds and driving industrial upgrade and transformation through digital innovation
The Digitalization exhibition area will showcase innovative technologies, products, solutions and successful applications in intelligent manufacturing, smart infrastructure, smart mobility, and IIoT. In the area of intelligent manufacturing, Siemens will present an interactive demonstration of cutting-edge technologies including digital twin and industrial cloud at Siemens’ first digital native factory in China: Siemens Numerical Control (Nanjing) Ltd. (SNC) new factory. By implementing digitalization throughout the entire process from product and production design, operation to optimization, the new factory expects to triple its output and reduce its time-to-market by nearly 20%. An upgraded Siemens Digital Experience and Empowerment Center (DE2C) will also be showcased onsite for the first time. This center helps customers and partners realize digital transformation through construction, operation and maintenance, and cooperation. In addition, Siemens will present its OT Security Appliance (OSA) system, which uses AI and threat intelligence technology to visualize assets, vulnerabilities, and operational risks in OT systems. Other technological innovations onsite, including industrial AI solutions, edge computing, predictive analytics solution SiePA, industrial 5G, robotics integration, and virtual commissioning, will empower industrial enterprises to discover the value of data and improve competitiveness.

For smart infrastructure, Siemens will showcase a range of innovative technology solutions that connect energy systems, buildings and transportation that help build smart cities. NXpower, Siemens’ one-stop power distribution solution, integrates various hardware and software components, including power distribution devices, smart modules, gateways and software management systems, to help realize efficient asset management, reliable and proactive operation and maintenance, smart energy management, and forward-looking insight on energy consumption. As a complete solution covering power generation, energy storage and energy monitoring, Siemens Distributed Energy Systems (DES) help the energy industry move to multi-energy complementation and optimized integration. The Siemens Shanghai Center model will demonstrate applications of Siemens building technology products and solutions in smart spaces.

In the field of smart mobility, Siemens Mobility will introduce Desiro HC (High Capacity), an energy-saving and environment-friendly intercity train with both single and double decks. In addition, Siemens provides interactive demonstrations of fully automated digitalized solutions and its success stories around the world. These examples show how Siemens helps mobility operators worldwide make smarter trains and infrastructures, enhance the sustainability throughout their lifecycles and improve the passenger experience.

In IIoT, Siemens focuses on demonstrating its consulting capability and integration services to deliver an end-to-end digital transformation. In addition, Siemens adds rich experience in industrial operations and management, cutting-edge industrial IIoT technology and delivery capabilities, and a thriving cross-industry ecosystem. In the healthcare industry, Siemens Advanta has provided consulting services that deliver end-to-end solutions from high-level planning to implementation. These services drive the digital transformation of Guangzhou KingMed Diagnostics Group. Together, they have drawn a new blueprint and implementation roadmap for “Medical Service 4.0”. In addition, Siemens Advanta demonstrates in detail the new business model for the Industrial Internet Enabling Center, which will create a new industrial ecology by empowering local partners. This builds a closed circle of technology exports, emerging industry promotion, ecological partnership improvement, and Siemens’ business expansion. So far, Siemens has helped upgrade local industries in four cities by establishing software and service-based empowerment center businesses there.

Supporting Chinese enterprises to tap the full potential of digitalization
