Tsinghua-Siemens Digital Transformation Leadership Program to become an incubator of future industrial leaders in China

Siemens and Tsinghua University today held the opening ceremony of the Tsinghua-Siemens Digital Transformation Leadership Program in Shanghai to kick off this pioneering digital education project jointly launched by the School of Economic and Management of Tsinghua University and Siemens. As the first digital education program designed specifically for the C-suite by a renowned educational institute and leading digital company, Tsinghua-Siemens Digital Transformation Leadership Program aims to provide comprehensive, diversified and professional courses as well as globalization experience and insights for future business leaders who are behind the wheel in China’s industrial development. Zhang Bo, Dean of the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute of Tsinghua University, Wu Hequan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Song Zhiping, President of the China Enterprise Reform and Development Society and other leading academics are invited to give lectures to executives in the manufacturing, IoT, medical, financial and other industries.

Wang Yanqing, Chairman of Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment Co Ltd., said in a speech at the opening ceremony as a student representative, “In this era of great changes, more and more companies are realizing the importance of digital transformation. Large- and medium-sized or small- and micro-sized enterprises alike are exploring new paths for growth through digital transformation, aiming to remodel their business scenarios and models, reduce costs and improve efficiency and risk resistance capability. It’s a great honor for me to be part of the Tsinghua-Siemens Digital Transformation Leadership Program, in which I can explore digital transformation with teachers and classmates and make a contribution to the sustainable development of China’s economy.”

The 18-month program offers seven courses – Macro Trends, Industrial Revolution, Management Wisdoms, Technology Power, Commercial Eco-system, Value Co-creation and Overseas Visit – and will provide students with study and research opportunities in Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Suzhou, Germany and other places. Students who complete all course modules and meet graduation standards will be granted Certificate of Completion by the Life-long Learning Division of Tsinghua University and Siemens, and be entitled as alumni of the School of Economy and Management of Tsinghua University to attend its seminars, forums and other alumni events.
