Siemens joins hands with BJEV to build high-end intelligent manufacturing base of automo-bile industry

•  Jointly building innovation studio for BJEV high-end intelligent manufacturing base and actively transform innovation achievements

•  Providing Digital Enterprise portfolios integrated with AI, Edge Computing and MindSphere etc.

•  Sharing standards for digitalization of automobile industry, support the establishment of standard system of the digital factory

Siemens and Beijing Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd. (BJEV) signed a cooperation framework agreement today. Base on Siemens’ innovative Digital Enterprise portfolios and advanced digitalization standard for automotive industry, the two parties will jointly build BJEV’s high-end intelligent manufacturing base in China covering welding, coating and assembling, together with an innovation studio, to enhance and drive the digitalization of China’s automobile industry.

Leveraging the innovation studio to be built, we will conduct in-depth research and practice on next generation automobile factory and ap-ply innovative achievements to the intelligent manufacturing base of BJEV, enabling a smart, efficient, green and energy-efficient digital factory.”

According to the agreement, Siemens will support BJEV to build intelligent innovation studio for its high-end intelligent manufacturing base of automobile industry as a model of innovative technology. Siemens will provide Digital Twin technology to BJEV and to build digital twin for production lines; improve the welding quality and optimize the coating process with application of AI and Edge Computing; promote the implementation of flexible logistics standard in BJEV with SIMOVE standard, AGV application and RTLS technology; explore application of industrial big data and APP on cloud based on MindSphere, the open IoT operating system of Siemens.

In addition, Siemens will share its digitalization standards for automobile industry such as SICAR, SIMOVE, SIplant, and fully support BJEV to build a digital factory standard system, including underlying control, flexible logistics and manufacturing as well as IT and OT data integration, helping BJEV become a digital enterprise covering the full value chain of business eco-system.
