Siemens China together with Siemens Healthineers China today announce to further enhance its support to China in fighting the novel coronavirus. The companies, aggregating concerted efforts of their businesses, will donate Siemens Healthineers medical equipment worth RMB 15 million in support of China’s efforts to fight the virus. The companies also encourage their employees to join the company’s action by making voluntary donations.

The donation will mainly comprise much-needed Siemens Healthineers medical equipment, including computed tomography and mobile DR, which are critical to diagnosing and scanning of novel-coronavirus-caused pneumonia at the local hospitals in Wuhan. In wake of the virus outbreak, Siemens Healthineers responded on a very short notice in the mid-night of January 21 to supply ultrasound equipment to ICU at Wuhan’s hospitals. The equipment was packaged at a record-breaking speed and on route for delivery within 10 hours. At its headquarter, Siemens Healthineers prioritized resources to guarantee supply of mobile DR devices to China. To ensure safe delivery and timely installation, Siemens engineers headed to the disease-hit Wuhan while the city announced the lockdown. In addition, Siemens’ advanced power distribution equipment is supporting the power supply of Leishenshan hospital, Wuhan’s second makeshift hospital currently under construction that will receive infected patients.
