Siemens Power Generation achieves another milestone in Mainland China: first H-class gas turbine lifted on the foundation successfully

The first unit of Siemens SGT5-8000H gas turbine for the largest Gas Combined Cooling, Heating and Power (CCHP) project in China has been successfully lifted on the foundation recently. The second unit will arrive at the project site within March. As the key equipment for the project, the quick delivery of gas turbines is of great significance to the assurance of project schedule. Commercial operation of first unit is planned within 2019.

In April 2018, Siemens signed an agreement with China Huadian Corporation to supply two sets of equipment including two SGT5 - 8000H gas turbines, two steam turbines and four generators for Huadian Guangzhou Zengcheng CCHP project in Guangzhou, Guangdong province. It was also the debut of Siemens H-class gas turbine in Mainland China.

The SGT5-8000H gas turbine from Siemens has such advantages as high efficiency, short start-up time and fast response to load changes. In combined cycle operation, its output is more than 670MW under ISO condition and power generating efficiency is over 62 percent. As of February 2019, the H-class turbine has been on the market for nearly a decade and exceeded one-million fired hours of commercial operation. With 70 turbines in operation and almost 100 machines sold, the H-class turbine is one of the highest net efficiency, outstanding reliability and powerful gas turbine products currently in commercial operation. At beginning of 2017, Siemens received its first H-class gas turbine order in Greater China from Castle Peak Power Company Limited for the delivery of a power block for a new combine cycle in its Black Point Power Station.
