  • Siemens officially launches its Industrial Edge Marketplace and releases more than 20 edge applications
  • Two Industrial Edge application scenarios - Performance Analytics and Shopfloor to Cloud Connectivity- released
  • Siemens works with Digitalization Value Partners to build an industrial edge community

Siemens held the 2nd Siemens Industrial Edge Community Conference today under the theme of “Engage in Industrial Edge Community for a Shared Future”. At the community conference, Siemens officially launched its open online business platform for the Chinese market - Industrial Edge Marketplace, and simultaneously released more than 20 edge applications to support enterprises in mining data value with a more agile, open and easy-to-expand business model. This marks an important milestone for the company's efforts to promote the technology and community development of Industrial Edge. Meanwhile, Siemens released two Industrial Edge application scenarios - Performance Analytics and Shopfloor to Cloud Connectivity- to help enterprises realize the integration of OT (operation technology) and IT (information technology) and granted the “Digitalization Value Partners” certificate to four eco-partners, working with its partners to help enterprises seek digital transformation in an open and win-win cooperation model.

“The connection between the virtual world and the real world requires the integration of OT and IT, while edge computing is one of the necessary technologies for the integration. As an innovative cutting-edge technology, Siemens Industrial Edge Computing will help enterprises unleash the infinite potential of data,” said Wang Haibin, Executive Vice President of Siemens Ltd., China and General Manager of Digital Industries, Siemens Greater China. “I'm very glad to see more and more like-minded partners join our Industrial Edge community, unite together, co-create value, and jointly explore new models for digital transformation of enterprises, injecting new momentum into high-quality industrial development.”

Siemens' Industrial Edge Marketplace (www.siemens-iestore.com.cn) provides industrial customers, partners and developers with a variety of Industrial Edge apps, covering such fields as communication connections, data processing, and functional applications. In the future, the Industrial Edge Marketplace will launch more apps co-created by Siemens and its eco-partners to help enterprises unlock more diversified application scenarios.

The Performance Analyticsapplication scenariowith Siemens industrial edge cananalyze machine/line KPIs and OEE for selected time periods based on locally stored data, detect unusually high throughput times with advanced cycle time analysis, detect causes for availability losses based on machine status hitlist, connect machines of different age, type and vendor with extensive available connectivity.

The Shopfloor to Cloud Connectivity application scenario with Siemens Industrial Edge can collect multiple data with different legacy protocols, realize data harmonization and export CSV files with possibility, and offer cloud storage.

During the conference, Siemens granted the certificate of “Digitalization ValuePartners” to four partners with excellent industrial edge software development capabilities, namely Wedo Future Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Foda Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai Manulism Technology Co., Ltd. and Dalian CoCreative Information Technology Co., Ltd. This means the ecological capabilities of Siemens Industrial Edge have been further enhanced. Up to now, dozens of partners have joined in the community, with capabilities covering production line integration, application development, software architecture, data analysis and other fields.
